Background; Turkish Civil Code requires couples be age 17 to marry without parental consent. This requirement can only be waived by court approval. Individuals under the age of 16 may not marry. Although legal adolescent age is 18, marriage legally makes individuals adolescent. In a court case, offender was found guilty of sexual abuse to 14 year girl defended, female who gained fertility at 13 regarded as adolescents in Turkish society, and claimed penalty deduction.
Method; Face-to-face quantitave survey study with 245 randomly selected sample conducted in suburbs of Istanbul. MSExcel, Pivot Table, Charts software used for data entry, analysis. With study; societys knowledge on legal marriage and adolescent ages, societys perception on physical vs legal adolescence are evaluated. 
Results; Middle socio-economic group thinks childhood marriages are sexual abuse by 91.02%, only 36.73% knows legal child age, 22.50% knows legal adolescent age, 46.25% believes adolescence is a physical period starting with fertility, 52.99% knows legal marriage age, 23.27% agree marriage is possible with physical adolescence.
Conclusion; There is a conflict between legal minimum marriage age and adolescent age in Code articles. In society, a correlation against children is established between legal marriage age and physical adolescence. Evaluation of knowledge level of the sample also indicates further mass education is required among low and middle socio-economic groups on sexual health issues like childhood pregnancy, and leaving education due to childhood marriages. Concerning legislators, marriage legally makes individuals adolescent regulation has to change to secure childrens rights until they are legally adolescent.
