This study examines the prevalence of dating physical violence in brazilian adolescents, through an epidemiological survey of 3025 adolescents from ten capital cities, using the Conflict in Adolescent Dating Relationships Inventory (CADRI). It was made the description of the absolute and the relative frequency and of the intersection of variables. 19.6% of adolescents suffered  some form of physical violence characterized by the presence of one or more of the following acts: to throw one over the other, beat, kick or punch, slapping or pulling hair, push or shake. 64.1% of adolescents who attack are also attacked. Boys reported more suffer physical violence (24.9%) than girls (16.5%). Suffer physical violence in dating relationships earlier was reported by 4.4% of adolescents. 65% of them are still in the victim's current relationship, indicating the continued submission to the violence committed by partner. The girls (28.5%) declared physically assault their boyfriends more than boys (16.8%). The most common is to slap on her boyfriend (20.7%), followed by beating (13.8%) and throw him objects (12.9%). The adolescents saw physical violence, practiced and suffered, as habitual behavior in the interaction. Their most common justification is the retribution of aggression from a partner or even as a form of expression or match between the couple. Often motivated by jealousy and sense of ownership and seek to humiliate or to take revenge for a betrayal. The results emphasize that physical violence prevention requires early intervention. Adolescents showed an acceptance and trivialization of violence as a resolving conflicts way.
