Dear Sir or Madam, I work at Institute of Child and Adolescent Health, Peking University, which is a key sector for policy shaping, strategy development in the field of child and adolescent health in China. I have been responsible for establishment of the first Injury and Violence Surveillance System among Students under MOH, China since 2004. I developed the protocol for this system, and did data analysis. The system is in the beginning stage, needing to be improved. Through this conference, I can learn the experience from other countries, consequently to improve the system in China. I am an associate professor in Peking University. Through introducing the experience to the undergraduates and graduate studetens, their life style will be changed in a healthier direction. Besides, I will transmit the information to health workers from schools, CDCs in China. As a result, the influence of the conference will be maximized. In addition, I have been conducting and will continue to do studies on the prevention of violence in adolescents. A model on violence prevention will be set up. The experience will be used to perfect the model and the model be expanded to other distrcts. As a mentee of the Mentor-VIP, I wish I have the opportunity to discuss and exchange information and experiences with scholars, experts and my mentor in the Safety 2010 conference and attend the Mentor-VIP program. It will better my understanding of, and will contribute to the prevention of injury and violence in my country.
