Personal submission e.g. How would attendance at the safety 2010 conference help you to improve the prevention of injury and the promotion of safety in your locality?	My oganisation is an NGO working in the area of child safety from several directions. Our approach includes holding training workshops for school bus drivers and physical / health education teachers, giving educational talks at hospitals for pregnant women and at parents - teachers forums, convening stakeholders forums with education ministry officals and school operators, among others. We also run safety clubs primary schools, while, once in a year,we take to the streets for our Child Safety Walk inorder to attract the attention of the government to what we are talking about. Our aim in each of these programmes is to expose as many people as possible to the real issues of child safety as it relates to the home, school, playground and all means of transportation available to man today. Our programmes are organised in such a way that we are able to come up with plans and suggestions to improve child safety awareness in the society at the end of the day. Also through feedback and participants response, solutions are reached for the way forward both for individuals and institutions, particularly schools. It is my belief therefore that my attendance at the safety 2010 conference will further broaden my knowledge of the relevant issues as it will afford me the opportunity to learn from the experience of other field workers from different countries as well as the experts perspective. it would also be an opportunity for me to network effectively.
