Personal submission e.g. How would attendance at the safety 2010 conference help you to improve the prevention of injury and the promotion of safety in your locality?	I am a public health student and an activist especially in the arena of injury and violence prevention. I am presently doing a study titled Health System Preparedness with regard to Road Traffic Accidents, in Terms of infrastructure, equipments and personnel in hospitals of Alappuzha district, Kerala, India using WHO guidelines for essential trauma care, 2004. The study is first of its kind in the country using GIS and aimed at improving trauma network. It will be completed by 30th October 2009. I would be honored if I get an opportunity to present the findings of the study before the distinguished audience in the conference. I am also preparing a project proposal for a world class trauma care centre and trauma care network for Alappuzha district (district having one of the most accident prone national high ways in the country) and then to the whole state. I hope the deliberations in the conference will help me a lot in this direction. Though I am a student I have fairly good contact with the policy makers and have received many recognitions and awards for my contributions and advocacy in public health issues. I see this conference as a great opportunity, so kindly consider me for the scholarship (as I am just a motivated student).
