I am Dr Raghavendra Babu YP, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology and Medico Legal consultant District Government Wenlock Hospital, Mangalore, India. Being a Forensic Expert and Medicolegal Consultant to the District Hospital from a developing country entitles me to a continuous and unlimited exposure to many medicolegal cases and deaths as a result of lack/ absence of safety features/ mechanisms or basic ignorance of the general public as well as the government authorities to implement or follow minimal safety requirements at public as well as private places. This results in innumerable sufferings, morbidity and death, which in turn taxes the already burdened health care system and Government Health funding. So I think that I can gain a lot by attending this Safety 2010 World Conference both in terms of ideas and experience which will ultimately help me to disperse the same at the local level in my district by enlightening the Safety aspects to the general public, law enforcing authorities, health care personnel, etc. I hope to get this opportunity to attend the conference and get enlightened by the ideas and views exchanged during the deliberations of the conference and at the same time get to know different people from different parts of the World.
